Math Teacher

 

Nancy grew up on Long Island, New York and has been a Pennsylvania resident for her entire adult life.  She has a BA in Computational Mathematics, as well as an MSE and PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania.  She has taught Discrete Mathematics at Widener University for the past 30 years.

She also has been an avid runner since age 14, having run 11 marathons including Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Chicago, London and Berlin. As part of her passion for running, pre-Covid, Nancy coached Girls on the Run, a program designed to empower girls in grades 3-5 all over the country to become strong athletes and leaders. This experience of working with young athletes was very rewarding for her.

Nancy and her husband Robert live in Gladwyne, PA, with their two dogs: Jasper and Charlie. Nancy’s collie Jasper volunteers with her for the pet therapy organization, Pals for Life.  Nancy and Robert have 3 adult children: Stephanie, a medical doctor in Honolulu (and former Wharton statistics major), Brandon, an investment banker in NY, and Valerie, a Wharton MBA student. Nancy also enjoys baking and knitting.

Nancy joined the Golden Key teaching staff in 2019 and has enjoyed sharing her love of teaching, math, and problem solving with our students.
