ALEX  ZHUKOVIN

Math and Robotics Teacher

 

Alex is a passionate educator and software engineer from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Peter the Great Polytechnic St. Petersburg University in Russia.

Alex has a breadth of experience working as a Senior Software Developer in Russia and also in the Netherlands. Since coming to the US in 2019, Alex has been a Senior Software Engineer at EPAM Systems where he designed and developed software and tools facilitating migration between Microsoft platforms.

We are excited to welcome Alex to our team as a Math and Robotics teacher in 2024. With a deep passion for making and creating, Alex integrates hands-on projects into lessons, inspiring students to explore technology through activities like programming, robotics, and 3D design. In the past, Alex has led a software development course in Java for kids aged 8-14 where he and his students modified Minecraft to extend its capabilities beyond what was readily available. 

 

In addition to teaching, Alex’s interests span electronics, 3D printing design, and manufacturing. As a proud parent of three children, Alex enjoys sharing the joy of discovery with family, along with their dog and cat.
